Ronald Coley

Ronald Allen Coley, 65, died Tuesday in his James Island home. A longtime entrepreneur, Coley is former owner of a family business, North Area Transmissions, in North Charleston. A Charleston native who attended area schools, Coley was a friend’s friend, always willing to lend a hand or share a joke. A son of Dorothy McClary Coley of North Charleston and the late Elisha Henry Coley Jr., Coley is survived by his wife, Larkin Hill; two sisters, Sandra Kornahrens of Hendersonville, N.C., and Tammy Coley of Atlanta, Ga.; and four nephews, two nieces, two great nephews and two great nieces. He is predeceased by his brother, John Lee Coley of Charleston. A memorial service is being planned for the spring. Arrangements are by Palmetto Cremation Society. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Charleston Animal Society.
