Mr. Ralph Johnson, 67, of Piedmont, South Carolina, departed this life on Sunday, December 4, 2016, at home. Born in Greenville, South Carolina, he was the son of Broadus Johnson and the late Laura Richardson Murray. Ralph was educated in the Greenville County School System. He sang around Greenville and surrounding areas with quartet groups for many years. His love for music was extended throughout his life. Ralph was fortunate to become one of the lead singers of The Impressions from 1973 to 2001. He also became a singer with Bill Pinckney’s Original Drifters from 2004 - 2007. Left to cherish many fond memories in addition to his father: his wife, Addie Holbrooks Johnson of the home; daughters, Crystal (Rico) Nance of Easley, Christi (Davontay) Rushing of the home, and R. Tonya Campbell of Atlanta, GA; sons, Ralph Broadus (Heather) Johnson of Pelzer and Christopher Thomas (Octavia) of Statesboro, GA; sisters, Ann Murray and Cheryl Murray, both of Greenville; seventeen grandchildren; one great-grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
