James Daniel McInnis

LANCASTER, SC: Mr. James Daniel “JD” McInnis, 86, of Lancaster, died Friday January 15, 2021 at home. A native of Lancaster, SC, he was the son of the late James Daniel and Florrie Catherine Goodman McInnis. JD worked as a loom fixer with Springs Industries and J.P. Stevens Company for many years. He was an avid gardener who shared his wonderful produce with neighbors and friends, he enjoyed singing and dancing; and in earlier years he enjoyed tent camping. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 35 years, Zola Belle Barlett McInnis. Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Norma Jean & Tim VanAllen of Lancaster, SC; Derrek Mahaffey and Alaina N. VanAllen; great-grandchildren Sabastian N. VanAllen, Kaylee J. Mahaffey, Sean Mahaffey, and Blake Mahaffey; and a number of step-children and step-grandchildren. A memorial service will be conducted by Pastor Ossie Deese at 11:00 AM Monday January 18,2021 in the Mahaffey Chapel of A Simple Service Burial and Cremation, Lancaster. A committal service will be at a later time, private for family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Lancaster, 901 N. Meeting St. Suite 209, Lancaster, SC 29720.
