Lancaster, SC: Mr. Rodgers A. Baker, Jr. 82, of 1900 Little John Drive, Lancaster, died Thursday December 10, 2020 at his residence. A native of Lancaster, he was the son of the late Rodgers A and Virginia Rollings Baker. He was a member of New Cut Presbyterian Church and a retired firefighter with the City of Lancaster Fire Department with over 35 years of service. After his service as a firefighter he was employed as a “runner” for Cauthen Motor Company. He loved RV camping, especially at Wateree State Park and spending time with his family, Survivors include a son, Rodgers A. “Rodney” “Buck” Baker, III and a daughter, Patricia Baker, both of the home; a brother, Marvin Baker of Lancaster; a sister, Ruby Hearne of Rocky Mount, NC; a number of nieces and nephews, and a grand-dog, Molly. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Juanita M. Baker. The family will receive friends from 1-2 PM Sunday at A Simple Service Burial and Cremation Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday December 13, 2020 in the Mahaffey Chapel of A Simple Service of Lancaster, 201 N. Catawba St. Lancaster, SC 29720. Interment will follow in Lancaster Memorial Park.
