Virginia Grant Munnerlyn On Tuesday, March 20, 2012, GOD sent an angel for His beloved servant, Mrs. Virginia Grant Munnerlyn, home to rest. Mrs. Munnerlyn, was the daughter of the late Mikel Grant and Etta Mae McAllister, she was born on November 9, 1929 in Florence County. She was educated in the Public School System of Florence County. Mrs. Munnerlyn was joined in holy matrimoney to Mr. Habword Munnerlyn in 1948. To this union five children were born and one (Franklin) preceded her in death. Mrs. Munnerlyn accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her Savior at an early age at Spring Branch Baptist Church. After marriage, she became a member of Saint Luke A.M.E. Church, where she served faithfully until her illness. She served on various organizations for over 50 Years. Some of the organizations were: the Senior Choir (President), A member of the Adult Church School Class, Women Missionary Society, Stewardess Board, Finance Committee, and The Lay Organization (President). She was also the Director of Christian Education and Fellowship Ministry, Chairperson Senior Ministry (Senior Citizens), Seventh Episcopal District Women's Missionary Society Sarah Allen Torch Lighter and past Matron of Light of Pamplico Chapter Number 80 Order of the Eastern Star. Her hobbies were reading, gardening, sewing and helping others, and serving on various community organizations. Mrs. Munnerlyn leaves to cherish precious memories and her legacy of love: her devoted and beloved husband of sixty-three years, Habword Munnerlyn; four children, Allen L. Munnerlyn, Habword Munnerlyn Jr., Virginia Ann Munnerlyn Droze and Rodney A. Munnerlyn; three daug-hters-in-law, Carolyn Damon Munnerlyn, Janice Bryant Munnerlyn, Mary Harrison Munnerlyn and one son-in-law, Charles G. Droze; four grandchildren, Ormond G. Droze, Brent E. Droze, Megan Munnerlyn and Brian Munnerlyn; one granddaughter in-law, Marissa Moore Droze; one great grandchild, Cameron Droze; one step grandson, Ron Bryant; one step granddaughter, Felicia Cobbie Damon; four step great grandchildren, Ronika Bryant, Christian Miller, Paris Miller and Ciara Miller; two brothers, Leon Grant and Charles Liston Grant; two sisters, Dorothy Grant and Alice Grant Wilson; four brothers-in-law, James Munnerlyn, Rudolph Wise, Alphonzo Pinckney and Leverne Wilson; eight sisters-in-law, Almeta Fleming Grant, Francina Jordan, Ida Mae Grant, Lizzie Grant, Helen Munnerlyn, Ruby Wise, Eva Mae Pinckney and Inez Munnerlyn; and a host of cousins, nephews, nieces, and close friends.
