Joe Reid Cox, 74, passed away Saturday November 22, 2014 at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. A native of McDowell County, NC, he was the husband of Linda Young Cox of the home and the son of the late Stephen Millard and Grace Washburn Cox. He was a member of Liberty United Methodist Church, a US Army Veteran having served in the Vietnam Era and a retired Truck Driver with ABF. Survivors in addition to his wife of the home include two daughters, Tammy Queen (Thomas) of Chesnee, Cathy Leichter of Chesnee; one brother, Clark Cox (Alice) of Spartanburg; one sister, Hilda Hollifield of Little Switzerland, NC; one grandson, Hunter Queen of Chesnee; one granddaughter in law Amy Fleming of Chesnee and one sister in law Inez Cox of Vansant, VA. He was predeceased by a grandson, Kellen A. Fleming and two brothers, Lamar Cox and John Ed Cox. Visitation will be held 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM Tuesday November 25, 2014 at Liberty UMC prior to the 11:00 AM Service at the church officiated by Rev. Arthur Holt and Rev. Tom Wilkes.
