Annie Goins

Annie Ruth Brown Goins, 75, wife of James Henry Goins, died Monday, June 26, 2017 at a local nursing facility. Born in Sumter County, she was a daughter of the late Marion Moise Brown, Sr. and the late Myrtle Belle Holcomb Brown. She was member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses-East Congregation where she was dedicated to her Christian studies. Survivors include her husband of sixty one years; seven children, Joyce Osborne of Sumter, Judy Goins of Lexington, Cindy Ward (Terry) of Lynchburg, Wanda Dozier (Mike) of Columbia, Harold Goins (Debbie) of Myrtle Beach, Kenneth Goins of Lake City, and Linda Schultz (Carl) of Florence; sixteen grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; two sisters, Carrie Ann Dove (Ronnie) of Columbia, and Marie Baker of Sumter; and two brothers, Ronald Brown (Donna) and Donald Brown (Nancy) both of Sumter. She was preceded in death by a son, Gerald Goins; a brother, Marion Brown, Jr.; and a sister, Linda Brown. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Stephen Vose officiating. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Friday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Watchtower Society, c/o Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 99 Oswego Hwy., Sumter, SC 29150. Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and Crematorium of Sumter is in charge of the arrangements.
