Delores “Dee Dee” Gray Rush, 66, died Sunday, June 28, 2020, at her home.
Born September 18, 1953, in Pensacola, FL, she was a daughter of Stewart Austin Rush and the late Shirley Gray Moore Rush. She was a member of Alice Drive Baptist Church. She was a Registered Nurse and worked in Labor and Delivery. She served in the U.S. Air Force. She loved gardening, flowers, hiking, bird watching, and travel. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her father of Sumter; her fiancé, Benjie Reynolds of Blythewood; two daughters, Christy Hutchinson Lyles (Gerald) of Sumter and Mandi Wilson of Charleston; four grandchildren, Anna Lyles, Bryce Lyles, Cooper Wilson, and Liza Gray Wilson; a brother, Leonard Austin Rush (Karen) of Alameda, CA; a nephew, Eric Rush; and a niece, Katy Rush.
She was preceded in death by a brother, James Stewart Rush.
A memorial service will be held at 1p.m. Wednesday at Alice Drive Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Clay Smith officiating.
