Edith Reeves Heath, 79, wife of Oliver B. “O.B.” Heath, and widow of former Sumter County Sheriff, Hazel F. Reeves, died Saturday, October 07, 2017 at McLeod Hospice House in Florence. Born in Manning, she was a daughter of the late Teddy Johnson and the late Corrine Drose Pope. Mrs. Heath was a member of St. John United Methodist Church and the American Legion Auxiliary. She was retired from Belk Department Store. Survivors include her husband of Sumter; four children, Robert Reeves of Sumter, Heyward Reeves and his wife, Jeannie Bonds Reeves of Moncks Corner, Michael Heath and his wife, Barbara of Atlanta, and Gaile Heath of Columbia; three grandchildren, Marcia Reeves Wilson, Katie Reeves Smith, and Lauren Heath; and one great grandchild, Finley Ferris Smith. She was preceded in death by a son, Michael T. Reeves. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. John United Methodist Church with the Rev. Larry Brown officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bill Wilcox, Frank Rhodes, Daryle Walker, Danny Burnette, Mike Newman, and John Weathers. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home. Memorials may be made to St. John United Methodist Church, 136 Poinsett Dr, Sumter, SC 29150. Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and Crematorium of Sumter is in charge of the arrangements.
