Furman William Barfield, Jr., 55, passed away Monday, March 27, 2017, at his residence. Born in Sumter, he was a son of the late Furman William Barfield, Sr. and the late Mary Angela Barfield. He is survived by one brother, Christopher W. Haigler and wife, Linda; uncles, Glenn Riles, Milburn Riles, and Johnny Riles; and aunt, Evelyn Harris; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph Alan Barfield and Douglas Eugene Nesbitt, Sr. A graveside service will be held at 2 P.M. Saturday, April 8, 2017, at Sumter Cemetery. Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and Crematorium of Sumter is in charge of the arrangements.
