Katherine Crenshaw Basso, 92, widow of Michael Charles Basso, Sr., died Saturday, January 23, 2021 at a local nursing facility. Born November 27, 1928, in Jones, Louisiana, she was a daughter of the late Harvey F. Crenshaw and the late Paralee Petty Crenshaw. Survivors include four children, Michael C. Basso, Jr. (Donna) and Norma Brusnahan both of Sumter, Dale Harris of LA, and Ronnie Harris (Barbara “Harry”) of NJ; a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Joe Crenshaw of LA. A private graveside service will be held in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery. Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and Crematorium of Sumter is in charge of the arrangements.Obituary
