Kyle Edward Dukes

Kyle Edward Dukes, 31, passed away Wednesday, April 21, 2021. Born January 26, 1990, in Sumter, he was a son of Edward C. “Eddie” Dukes and Beth A. Dukes. He was employed by Safelite Auto Glass. He was a member of Sumter Baptist Temple. Kyle loved fishing, helping others, Clemson football, cars, and working on cars. He was a graduate of Thomas Sumter Academy where he played soccer. As a childhood cancer survivor, he received a Make-A-Wish trip. He went to see his favorite NFL team, the Minnesota Vikings, play and was able to meet the owner and many of the players. Survivors include his parents of Sumter; a brother, Jared A. Dukes (Elizabeth) of Simpsonville; paternal grandparents, Curry and Mary Dukes of Sumter; maternal grandmother, Anne Hall of Sumter; uncles and aunts, Bradley Hall, Martha Cribb, and Glenn and Angela Dukes; a number of cousins; special friend, Alisha Maxon; and his faithful canine companion, Milo. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, William B. Hall; and uncle, Nelson Cribb. A funeral service will be held at 2 P.M. Sunday in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home chapel with Pastor Eddie Richardson and Pastor Mike Westmoreland officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 P.M. Sunday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home of his parents. Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and Crematorium of Sumter is in charge of the arrangements.
