Judy Learing (66) passed away in her home on October 16, 2019. Judy was born May 25, 1953 in Yankton, SD to Emil and Bernice Jespergaard (Mellegaard). She grew up in Irene, SD, graduating from Irene High School in 1971. She married Dennis Learing on May 1, 1982 and moved to Sioux Falls, where she worked a variety of jobs in health care and hospitality. She and Dennis welcomed two children, Adam and Emily, into their family. If you asked Judy, she would say that her greatest and most fulfilling job was raising her two children. Through the years, Judy enjoyed multiple hobbies, including gardening, sewing, cross stitching, cooking and baking for family, and spending time with her sisters. A hobby that brought her much joy later in her life was spending time with and spoiling her grandson, Elliot. Grateful to have shared her life, are her husband of 37 years, Dennis; her children Adam (Emily) Learing of Sioux Falls and Emily Learing of Sioux Falls; her sisters Linda Davenport of Sioux Falls and Jane (Mark) Dahlberg of Beresford; her grandson, Elliot Learing of Sioux Falls; and numerous nieces and nephews. Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Emil and Bernice Jespergaard, sisters Betty Dachtler, Joyce Jespergaard, and Karen Jespergaard; and brother-in-law Phil Davenport.
