Talana was born on March 22, 1989 in Pine Ridge, S.D. She attended Crazy Horse Elementary School and graduated 8th grade at American Horse School. Talana attended Box Elder Job Corp in 2007 where she specialized in Drywall and Carpentry. Talana was talented in many arts, such as writing poetry, writing, singing, and producing her own music videos. She was also a creative artist, who loved to draw, bead, decorate cakes, and was skilled in technology. Talana was a kind and generous person who made friends wherever she went. Talana resided in Wanblee, S.D. most of her life then moved to the Fort Thompson Indian Reservation (Big Bend & Crow Creek) in 2007 where she lived until the time of her death.
