Ida Sue Shelton Obituary

Ida Sue Shelton, 86 formerly of 1829 Jackson Hollow Road, passed away peacefully at Life Care Center of Gray on Monday, June 24,2019. Mrs. Shelton was a homemaker and a member of Liberty Hill United Methodist Church, Limestone, TN. She was born in Green County and lived in the Clear Springs Community until 1962 when she moved to Kingsport with her husband and two sons. She was the daughter of the late Ivis and Carrie (DeVotie) Renner and was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Loyce Denver Shelton. Five brothers; Charles Renner, Fred P. Renner, Ivis Renner Jr., J.D. Renner and Kirky Renner. Two sisters; Eula (Toots) Gammons and Geneva McKay. Three sisters-in-law; Barbara Renner, Virginia Renner and Wanda Renner. Seven brothers-in-law Tommy Bowers, Billy Jack Dunn, Jimmy Gammons, Jack McKay, Marion Reed, Troy Saylor and Freddie Shepard. She is survived by two sons Jerry L. Shelton ( Donna Ford), Kingsport, and Eddie D. Shelton (Patricia Dalton) of Dandridge. Three grandchildren Derek D. Shelton ( Amanda Wedemeyer) of Fall Branch, Heather M. Shelton, Kingsport and Nicki Shelton Ball (Wesley Ball) of Morristown. Three great-grandchildren; Ansley Sarah Ball of Morristown Jaxon Denver Shelton of Fall Branch and Mailey Rhea Ball of Morristown. She is also survived by six sisters and one brother-in-law; Imogene Bowman (Earnest), Lillian Dunn, Dolly Saylor and Doris Shepherd all of Greeneville, Patricia Bowers of Chuckey and Willie Kate Reed of Limestone. One sister-in-law; Mary Renner of Chuckey, TN. Several nieces and nephews. Longtime special friends and neighbors; Boyd and Sharon Cyphers, Chris Rogers, Marcia Dingus and Nellie Taylor. The family would like to express a “special” Thank You to Dr. Daniel Carroll, Nurses Station # 2 and the staff at Life Care for the care given to Ida Sue during her time there. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm on Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at East Tennessee Funeral Home in Blountville, TN. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at East Tennessee Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Richard Bowers officiating. Entombment will follow in the Mausoleum of Hope. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Turner Syndrome Foundation at www.turnersyndromefoundation.org or to the charity of one’s choice.
