John Homer Lunsford passed away November 7, 2019 at the Veterans Hospital in Nashville, TN. Born in Bluff City, TN he was the son of the late John C. and Mary E. Lunsford. Mr. Lunsford was also preceded in death by his son, Kenneth Lunsford; his brothers, Eddie and Blaine (Curly) Lunsford and his sister, Virginia L. Lane. Mr. Lunsford was a veteran of the United States Army having proudly served his country in Vietnam. He was a member of the AMVETS Chapter 1776, Nashville, TN; the AMVETS Honor Guard Chapter 1776, Nashville, TN; VVA Chapter 1140, Franklin, TN and the VFW Chapter 6993, Goodlettsville, TN. John was a loving husband to his wife Stella whom he married on May 26, 1989 in Spring Lake, NC. He was a devoted father to his son John Keith Lunsford of Bristol, TN and his step-sons Danny E. Turner (Meridith) of Linthieum Heights, MD. and Steven T. Lampley (Tery) of Murfreesboro, TN and his step-daughter Melissa D. Archambeault (Mike) of Smyrna, TN. John was a loving brother to his sisters Lilian E. Eades (Jerry) and Sarah E. Harrison and his sister-in-law Laura E. Lunsford. He was a loving and proud grandfather, great-grandfather and uncle. The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 14, 2019 at the East Tennessee Funeral Home, 2630 Hwy 75 Blountville, TN 37617 from 5:00PM -7:00 PM. The service will follow at 7:00 PM with Pastor Johnny Dillard officiating. Mr. Lunsford will be laid to rest Friday, November 15, 2019 at 11:00 AM in the East Tennessee Cemetery Garden of Sermon on the Mount with full Military Rites by the Jerry Reed Music City Honor Team Post # 1776. Pallbearers will be Wayne Lunsford, Billy Lunsford, Nolan Lunsford and Alex Archambeault. Honorary Pallbearers will be AMVETS Jerry Reed Music City Post #1776.
