Pastor Kenneth Sales was set free from all suffering and pain on November 20, 2020 after a lengthy illness. He was preceded in death by his mother, Pearl Roberts and his father, Jessie Sales Sr. Pastor Sales was a 1970 graduate of Howard High School. He served in the United States Air Force. He was Pastor and Founder of the Philippi Missionary Baptist Church. Pastor Sales was a hard worker. He worked at Wheland Foundry, Southern Railroad, Covenant Transport, St. Barnabas Nursing Home, Life Care of Missionary Ridge, and McCallie School. He was also preceded in death by 2 sisters, Margaret Roberts and Barbara M. Brabson; 2 brothers, Jessie Sales Jr., Bobby Roberts and on December 1, the last of his siblings, Elizabeth Elliott. Kenneth is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Alma Jean Sales; devoted daughter, Doris Sales; 2 sons, Charles and Michael McClendon; devoted granddaughter, Tychica Postell; granddaughters, Amanda, Chelsea McClendon; grandsons, Darius and Tyjhad McClendon; 1 great grandchild, Darius Jr.; aunt, Pearl Sales; devoted brother-in-law, Charles Elliott; several brothers and sisters-in-law; best friends, John and Kathy Sligh, Rae Ann Petty; other close relatives and friends. A public viewing will be held 9:00 am – 12:00 pm Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at the funeral home. A private funeral service will be held for the family. Interment: Chattanooga National Cemetery. .
