John Whitfield Edwards, III. (Johnny), age 74 died on October 15, 2017 at Walking Horse Meadows after fighting a courageous battle with Lewy Body Dementia. He was born on April 11, 1943 to John W. Edwards, Jr. and Elizabeth Riley Edwards. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Paula Baggett Edwards. They are the parents of John Riley (Kristin) Edwards and grandparents of Elijah and Oliver Edwards. He is also survived by his sister, Bess Stratton; nieces, Elizabeth Stratton and Katherine (Jimmy) Miller and mother-in-law, Mary Lou Baggett. He was employed for 45 years at Riley Hardware, the family business. He was a member of Central Civitan and graduated from Clarksville High School. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church and most recently attended Lone Oak Baptist Church. The Celebration of Life Service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with Rev. David Mackens officiating. Burial will be in Lone Oak Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Monday, October 16, 2017 and on Tuesday from 12 noon until the hour of the service at the funeral home. The family appreciates the compassionate care given him by Walking Horse Meadows and AseraCare Hospice.
