Gertrude "Gerti" Keil, age 87 of Crossville, Tennessee passed from this life Monday, September 11, 2017, at her home in Crossville. Gerti was born Tuesday, September 9, 1930 in Trenton, New Jersey, the daughter of the late Benjamin and Gertrude (Hansley) Simon. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her Husband of 60 years, Charles Henry Keil, her Son, Lance Cpl. Lee E. Marsh, Jr. (Vietnam Bronze Star - Combat V and 3 Purple Hearts), Brothers, Leslie, Frank, Ray, Johnnie Simon, and Sister, Lillian Simon. Gerti was a loving Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother (GG), a good Christian who enjoyed Church and Her Bible, and who raised and cared for, along with Charlie, many Dachshunds. Gerti, a Gold Star Mother, is survived by: Grandsons: James Robert (Mimi) Day of Rancho Cucamonga, CA Thomas Lee Charles (Maggie) Hanson of Island Lake, IL Great Grandchildren: William "Hunter" Day and Summer Day of Rancho Cucamonga, CA. Daughter Suzanne (John) Hanson of Crossville, TN. Numerous Sisters and Brothers living in the Tennessee area, as well as her Sister Catherine Devlin and Sister-in-law Kay Simon of Trenton, NJ. Several Nieces and Nephews living in the New Jersey and Tennessee areas. Donations may be made to Shriners Hospital and American Heart Association in memory of Gerti. Funeral services for Gerti will be held Saturday, September 16, 2017 beginning at 12:00 pm from the chapel of Crest Lawn Funeral Home with Becky Smith with Westminster Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment beside her Husband Charlie will follow in Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday, September 16 from11:00 am until time of service at 12:00 noon.
