Adelina R. Donzella, age 88, Clinchfield Avenue, Erwin, passed away Tuesday, August 15, 2017, in the Unicoi County Memorial Hospital Long Term Care. She was born in Tarrytown, NY and had lived in Florida for forty-three years before moving to Erwin in 2007. Mrs. Donzella was a daughter of the late Angelo Vaccaro and Marietta Ferraro Vaccaro. Prior to her retirement, she was a self employed caterer. Mrs. Donzella was a member of St. Michael Archangel Catholic Mission. She was a devout Christian and loved doing volunteer work. Everyone loved her and her smile would always light up the room. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters. Mrs. Donzella leaves behind to cherish her memories, her husband of sixty-eight years, John J. Donzella; two sons, John C. Donzella and wife, Christine of PA and David Donzella and Robin Bepler of FL; one daughter, Darlene Riddle and husband, James of Erwin; six grandchildren, Genevieve, Michele, Derek, Ryan, Anthony and James; eight great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive. The family received friends from 11:00 A. M. until the hour of Mass at the Robert Ledford Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, August 18, 2017. Father Tom Charters officiated at the 12:00 noon Mass of Christian Burial. Music was provided by Inez Chandler. James Riddle, John Donzella, David Donzella, Derek Donzella, Pedro Diaz and Larry Clouse served as pallbearers. Committal service was held at 1:45 P. M. in the Mountain Home National Cemetery.
