Robert Effler Obituary

Robert Paul Effler, age 84, 1520 Massachusetts Avenue, Unicoi, passed away on Friday, August 25, 2017 at the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center. He was a lifelong resident of Unicoi County and a son of the late Cletis and Macy Lloyd Effler. Mr. Effler was a United States Army Veteran. He was a Timberman and loved working in timber. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers: Kenneth and Varnel Effler; one sister, Helen Ramsey; one granddaughter, Heather Tipton. He leaves behind to cherish his memories, his wife of sixty-two years, Glenna Effler; one son, Robert Glen Effler and wife, Pam, Unicoi; four daughters: Kathy Tipton Estep and husband, Douglas, Erwin, Linda Tipton and husband, J.C., Unicoi, Robbie Effler Estep, Elizabethton, Tia Hammitt and husband, Joel, Unicoi; six grandchildren: Travis Tipton, Brooke Effler, Chase Effler, Lacey Tipton, Caleb Hoilman and Kelly Tipton; one great grandchild, Addison Hammitt; several nieces and nephews also survive. A graveside service will be held at 10:45 A. M. on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 in the Mountain Home National Cemetery. Military honors will be rendered by the Carter County Honor Guard. It was Mr. Effler's wishes to be cremated.
