Melvin Louis Prevost, Jr age 72 of Franklin, TN passed away in his home on August 4, 2019. He was born on February 24, 1947 in Detroit, MI to Melvin L., Sr. and Sally Bilyk Prevost; both deceased. Also, preceding him in death is his sister, Linda Scarberry. He married his wife, Joyce “JoAnne” Lewandowski Prevost on June 17, 1977, she survives. Also surviving is a son, Michael (Jennifer) Prevost of Murfreesboro, TN and a sweet granddaughter to be due in January. Melvin was employed by General Motors for 48 years where he worked as a Tool and Die maker. He was an active member of St. Philip Catholic Church. He was a charter member of the Knights of Columbus in Michigan and at St. Philip. He served as Grand Knight two times and was a former president of the Men’s Club. Memorial services will be conducted August 30, 2019 at St. Philip Catholic Church, Father Bala officiating. Visitation will be from 4:30-6:30 at the church with a funeral Mass to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be sent in Mel’s memory to St. Joseph Home Building Fund P.O. Box 9 Sloatsburg, NY 10974 (www.ssmi-us.org).
