Donald Forrest Obituary

Donald Wayne Forrest was born February 19, 1958 in Mercer, Tennessee. He was the second child of Vernice Forrest Glenn, and during his formative years was reared and nurtured by loving grandparents, the late Corinth Forrest and Nancy “Big Mama” Merriweather Forrest. Being reared in a close knit and Christian home, Donald accepted Christ at an early age, as the Greater Mercer Baptist Church was like a “second home.” As “Big Mama” served faithfully at the church, she was often accompanied by Earnest, Wilbert, Donald Wayne and John! Donald attended Denmark Elementary School and graduated from West High School in 1976. He was employed with Berry Plastics of Jackson, Tennessee for the past twenty-two (22) years. Some co-workers have commented: “We will miss his humor and wit, and how he kept everyone on their toes to do their job!” Donald Wayne was united in holy matrimony to Glenda Sheffield Forrest on November 17, 1993. The life of Donald Wayne Forrest had a courageous journey that came to an end on Wednesday evening, October 15, 2014 at the Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. He finished his course and kept the faith during his journey home. Left to cherish fond memories of him always are his loving and devoted wife, Glenda; a daughter, Erika Sheffield, Jackson, TN; mother, Vernice Forrest Glenn, Rockford, IL; three sisters: Sandra Forrest, Rockford, IL, Debbie (Kevin) Forrest-Walker, Columbus, GA, Monica Glenn-Koonce, Glenwood, IL; four brothers: Wilbert (Joyce) Forrest, Jackson, TN, Dwight Forrest, Rockford, IL, Stephen Forrest, Poplar Grove, IL, Marcus (Michelle) Glenn, Milwaukee, WI; a sister-in-law, Yolanda Guy, Jackson, TN; three brothers-in-law: Jimmy Ray (Robbie) Sheffield, Jackson, TN, Ricky (Patricia) Sheffield, Jackson, TN and Randy (Rose) Guy, Memphis, TN; a special niece, Gabrielle Guy, Jackson, TN; a godson, Hosandy Rashad Theus, Jackson, TN; a host of special uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
