Mary Swink

Mary Lee was born April 29, 1907 in Grand Junction, Tennessee to Ben and Ida Miller. She met and married Amon Swink and eventually moved to Jackson, Tennessee. They had seven children. Mary Lee worked and retired from the Jackson Madison County School System as a cook. Her interest included family, traveling, gardening, cooking, writing, music and reading. She devoted much of her time and energy to children including being a kindergarten Sunday School teacher and Girl Scout troop leader. She was an active member of the Eastern Star and Progressive Home Club. She was a member of the Historic First Baptist Church where she dedicated over 80 years of her life and service as a faithful member of the Usher Board. Mary Swink is survived by her daughter, Ida Mae Perry of Los Angeles, CA; two sons, Harold Swink of Jackson, TN; Carl Swink of Mannheim, Germany. She will be greeted at the gates of heaven by her husband, Amon Swink; her children, Amos Swink, Geneva Swink (Roebuck), Sarah Swink, Josephine Swink (both infants) and her brother, W.D. Miller.
