Sylvia Buckley

Sylvia Lynette Buckley was born March 4, 1966 in Bradford, Tennessee to Shirley Buckley and Hollis Booker. She was later adopted by Samuel Buckley and was reared by him and her mother in Cedar Grove, Tennessee. She departed this earthly life on April 24, 2015. Sylvia’s relationship with Christ began at an early age at Mt. Arratt Primitive Baptist Church. Sylvia graduated from Lexington High School with honors in 1984. She was a member of the Beta Club and active in sports. She completed her undergraduate degree from Murray State University and was chosen Who’s Who Among American College Students. Sis. Buckley started in the ministry with Pastor Vera Cole in Cincinnati, Ohio. Upon returning to Tennessee, she worshipped at the Family Worship Center. She recently worshipped at Northside United Methodist Church. Sylvia was full of life and always encouraging others to be spiritually and academically sound to fulfill their purpose here on earth. Her entrepreneur endeavors include multiple businesses ranging from computers, lawn care service, construction, property management and many more. Sylvia leaves to cherish her memory, her parents, Samuel and Shirley Buckley, Hollis (Margaret) Booker; her grandmother, Jeraldine Sowell; five sisters: Teresa Buckley, Samantha Buckley all of Cedar Grove, TN, Tara Duncan (Malik), Holly Booker both of Denver, CO and Heather Szabo (Steve) of Bakersfield, CA; a brother, Rashad Booker (Sybil) of Denver, CO; a special sister and nephews: Theresa, Blake and Colton Parker; two god-sisters: Chris Carver-Pearson and Ayana Chism; two god-daughters: Autumn Johnson and Summer Johnson-Brown (Dantrail); a special friend, Greg Cook; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
