Ralph E. Murrell

Ralph Eugene Murrell, age 93 of Loudon passed away on Saturday March 18, 2017. He was born July 9, 1923 to the late Oscar and Ethel Fain Murrell.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two children Ralph Murrell, Jr. and Linda Murrell Lawhon; brother, Junior Murrell; two sisters Mary Dale Chaney and Carolyn Young. He is survived by his wife Evelyn Geagley Murrell, children Karen Crawford, Tim (Marta) Murrell, and Lisa (Eric) Dickinson, nine grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren, a brother Robert (Bob) Murrell and several nieces and nephews. He was a veteran of WW II, retired from TVA in 1988, charter member of Bethany Baptist Church, and taught the adult men’s Sunday school class. He loved gardening and serving others through his carpentry skills. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at Bethany Baptist Church with Rev Jack Belcher and Rev. Rick Harrell officiating. Family and friends will meet at 11:00 am Wednesday, at Loudon County Memorial Gardens for graveside service. The family will receive friends from 5:00 - 6:30 prior to the funeral service. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Bethany Baptist Church.
