Rev. James Hickle Obituary

Rev. James Verlin Hickle-age 98 of Knoxville went home to be with his Lord Friday, March 31, 2017 at Northhaven. He was a member of New Friendship Baptist Church. U. S. Army Veteran of World War II and received a Purple Heart for his wounds during his service in Germany. Preceded in death by parents, Lee and Jane (Bruner) Hickle; three wives, Anna McDaniel Hickle; Bertha Goin Hickle; Jean Loy Hickle; brothers, Herbert, Louie and Homer Hickle; sisters, Retta Tharp, Lannie Hickle. Survivors: daughters, Phyllis Jessee; Annette Lindsey; Georgia Welch; six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, nine great-great-grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends 6-8 P.M. Tuesday, April 4, 2017 with funeral services to follow at 8 P.M. Tuesday, Cooke-Campbell Mortuary Chapel, Rev. Leonard Goin, Rev. Jerry Walton officiating with music by Richard and Linda Nicley. Interment 11 A.M. Wednesday, April 5, 2017, Lynnhurst Cemetery, Knoxville with military graveside rites by Tri-County Veterans Honor Guard. Pallbearers: Grandsons and Nephews. Family and friends will meet at the cemetery 10:45 A.M. Wednesday. Arrangements by Cooke-Campbell Mortuary, Maynardville.
