Allen Sparks

Allen Wayne Sparks, age 63, Johnson City, passed away peacefully at his residence on Saturday, December 8, 2018. He lived most of his life in Jonesborough before moving to Johnson City several years ago. Allen was a son of the late Lewis Sparks, Jr. and Betty Bennett Sparks. He was employed at TPI Corporation where he worked as the Shop Manager with twenty-eight years of service. Allen loved his family and enjoyed spending time with all of them. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and he was an Avid NASCAR fan. Allen was a prankster and loved cracking jokes with everyone. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Pamela Jane Sparks on September 4, 2014; one brother, Jeff Sparks; two nephews: Marty and Vestil Miller; brother-in-law, Kenneth Miller. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, one daughter, Jennifer Tipton, Johnson City; two brothers: Gary Sparks (Jackie), Sulphur Springs, Dusty Miller, Johnson City; two half brothers: Tom Sparks and Jack Sparks, both of Jonesborough; two sisters: Doris Wigand, Judy Stanley (James), all of Johnson City; one half sister, Jean Keys (Clay), Jonesborough; two grandchildren: Tiffany Coffey (David) and Billy Tipton; four great grandchildren: Tomas Coffey, Aden Coffey, Josef Allen Coffey and Dayla Shaw; two special nieces: Penny Shaw and Gayle Arrowood; several other nieces and nephews also survive. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 P.M. on Thursday, December 13, 2018 in the Unicoi Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Steve Miller will officiate at the 8:00 P.M. funeral service. Pallbearers will be Cody Shaw, David Coffey, Jimmy Butler, Cody Gouge, Rusty Sparks, Kevin Sparks, Dusty Sparks and Steve Dunn. Committal will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday in the Roselawn Memory Gardens. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 10:45 A.M. on Friday.
