Gladys Kinsland Obituary

Gladys Smith Kinsland, age 83, Unicoi, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 17, 2019 at the Center on Aging and Health. She lived most of her life in Unicoi County and was a daughter of the late Joseph “Jay” and Nancy Nelson Smith. Mrs. Kinsland was a member of Fishery Community Church. She retired as a Registered Nurse after thirty-one years of service. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Tom Adkins and one brother. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, two sons: Joe Adkins (Zinnia), Unicoi and Henry Smith, Piney Flats; one daughter, Ann Kinsland, Shady Valley; two brothers: Alf Smith (Pansy), Earl Smith (Thea), all of Jonesborough; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive. The family will receive friends from 12:00-1:00 P.M. on Thursday, February 21, 2019 at the Unicoi Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside service will follow the visitation in the Peoples Cemetery. Reverend Dallas Gregg will officiate. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
