Mark ‘Tyrone” Kent Terry, 58, of Abilene, passed away Sunday, August 6, 2017. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 A.M Thursday, August 10, 2017 in North’s Memorial Chapel, under the direction of North’s Funeral Home, 242 Orange Street. Mark was born October 8, 1958, in Abilene, Texas to Virgil Doyle Terry and Virginia Ann (Shore) Terry. He graduated from Abilene Christian University in 1980 with a masters in Algebra and a minor in computer science. Mark was also avid hunter fisherman, and bowler and enjoyed spending quality time with friends and family making countless memories. In January of 1981, during his senior semester at ACU, Mark married Melinda Coffman. They were married for twenty years and during that union they were blessed with three children Leslie, Lonna, and Lauren. He worked at the Texas Utilities Data Center in Mesquite, Texas for twenty years doing mainframe computer work then followed a job opportunity with Bank One and Chase of Columbus, Ohio where he lived for twelve years before settling back home in Abilene, working for Nationwide Insurance and retired in June of 2017. He was proceeded in death by his brother, Kurt Terry and his mother. He is survived by his father Virgil Terry, sister, Jennifer Melton and husband Jerry. He leaves behind three daughters as well as nine grandchildren. Three nieces Ashley Terry, Nikki Bartley and husband Travis, and Brittany Snow, and close friend Elaine Sword.
