Eugene Wollam Obituary

Eugene Lee Wollam, 94, of Danbury, TX went to be with his Lord and savior on Saturday, June 22, 2019 in Angleton, TX. He was born to Ora and Louise Wollam in Freeport, TX on March 9, 1925. Public Visitation will be held at Danbury Baptist Church on Wednesday, June 26, 2019 from 5-7:00pm. Funeral Service is scheduled Thursday, June 27, 2019 at 10:00am also at Danbury Baptist Church with burial to follow in Danbury cemetery. Eugene was a very loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was involved in many community organizations such as the Boy Scouts, American Legion Post #501, Danbury Baptist Church as a Deacon, Little League, Danbury City Council for 20+ years and the Danbury Volunteer Fire Department for 38 years. He worked for Dow as an electrician and retired after 38 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Eli Wollam. Eugene is survived by his lovely wife of 70 years Betty Wollam, sons Gordan Wollam and wife Nancy, and Jeff Wollam, brother Roy Wollam, grandson Jesse Wollam and Great-granddaughter Emily Wollam as well as numerous other family and friends. Pallbearers will be Ora Don “Skeeter” Wollam, David Hatthorn, Bob Wollam, Mark Mager, Charles Wollam, Tim Wollam, & Aaron Wollam. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Danbury Baptist Church Men’s Sunday School Class. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Danbury Baptist Church in memory of Eugene. (Danbury Baptist Church, 5615 2nd St., Danbury, TX 77354) A special thank you from the family to the Nurses and Staff of UTMB Angleton, Country Village, A-Med Hospice and Home Nursing Care.
