Jackie Marie Chamblin Obituary

Jaqueline Marie “Jackie” Chamblin came into this world on July 31, 1960 in Houston, TX. She was the youngest of three children born to J.B. “Bill” and Dorothy Evelyn “Dot” Dubois. Jackie gave her life to Christ on March 28, 1977. In 1978 Jackie graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in Houston, where she was a member of the dance line. In June 1979 Jackie was married to Kyle Chamblin at Westheimer Baptist Church in Houston, and they remained happily married until her passing. Within a few years of their marriage, their family grew to include a son, Steven Kyle II, and a daughter, Jaqueline Crystal. Jackie later wrote children’s Sunday School literature for several years for Lifeway Publications for the Southern Baptist Convention. She also earned a degree in Counseling and was a licensed Christian Counselor, which she retained until her untimely passing. Jackie’s heart was her family, and she was a favorite of her four grandchildren, who called her Cannie, which was short for Candy Gram, because she was the grandmother who enjoyed giving candy, along with her deep love, to her grandchildren. Jackie’s hobbies included flower gardening, art, feeding and photographing birds, interior decorating, baking, and genealogy. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Through the years, Jackie was continuously involved in various church ministries, was a Client Advocate at Pregnancy Help Center in Lake Jackson, TX, and involved in a ministry to imprisoned women in Lake Charles, LA. A symbol of Jackie’s unselfish nature was her love of giving gifts. She was known for giving unique, creative, and amazingly appropriate personalized gifts. In contrast to Jackie’s sweet, sensitive, caring nature, she was determined and relentless in completing what she set out to do. Although she was in constant physical pain the last 20 years of her life, she would continue on until the pain would not allow it. On October 16, 2020, Jesus relieved Jackie of pain for eternity as He welcomed her into her eternal home. Family members who also welcomed Jackie into heaven are her parents, Bill and Dot DuBois, her grandparents and cousins. Jackie is survived by her husband, Kyle, her son Steven and wife Yvonne, her daughter Crystal Branim and husband Michael, her grandchildren Gemma and Gideon Chamblin, Liam and Leysten Branim, her sister Andrea Jones and husband Mack, and her brother, John. Until we see her again in our eternal home, Jackie will be missed terribly by all who knew and loved her. Jackie’s memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 22, 2020 at First Baptist Church of Angleton, TX, 237 E. Locust St.
