Gloria Ann Guzman, 65, of Austin passed away peacefully on December 25th surrounded by her family after a difficult battle with cancer. Gloria was born in Austin, Texas, graduated from Austin High School, and attended college at Southwest Texas University.
She is preceded in death by her father Alfonso Candelas, her mother Lupe Huerta Candelas, and her sister Mary Lupe Saucedo. She is survived by her husband James Guzman, daughter Tiffany Ledesma, and her son Cisco Guzman.
Gloria was a realtor who never met a stranger, but most importantly she was an undercover social worker at heart who always helped those in need. When Gloria beat cancer the first time, she got involved with Live Strong and her cancer support group in order to be there for those going through the same difficult battle.
Along with helping others, Gloria loved spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed Sunday breakfasts, traveling, going to movies with her nieces, playing with her nephew, and attending dances and concerts with her group of close friends.
Visitation will be held Friday, December 29th from 5pm – 9pm at Angel Funeral Home located at 1600 S. 1st Street Austin, TX 78704.
Recitation of the rosary will be at 7pm Friday, December 29th at Angel Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Saturday, December 30th at 10am at Our Lady of Guadalupe located at 1206 East 9th Street. Burial will follow at Assumption Cemetery located at 3650 S. IH 35 Austin, TX 78704.
