Service for Alvern Sturges, 91, of Cleburne, will be conducted at 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, July 11, 2012 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. The Reverend Fred Neumann will officiate. Entombment will be at 3:00 P.M., Wednesday, in the Greenwood Mausoleum in Ft. Worth. Mrs. Sturges passed away Saturday, July 7, 2012 in Ft. Worth. She was born Mar. 25, 1921 in Cooper, TX to Thomas Alex and Mattie C. Dulaney Cathey. She married A.Z. Sturges and he preceded her in death in 1967. Mrs. Sturges was a member of the Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church and was a dietician for Harris Hospital for many years in Ft. Worth. Mrs. Sturges is survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and cousins. Memorials may be made to the Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church or Community Hospice House in Ft. Worth.
