Anita Cogburn Obituary

Anita Jean Cogburn was born September 23, 1926. At 88 years old she departed this earth on December 20, 2014. A private graveside service will be held for the family at George’s Creek Cemetery. She believed in God and was of the Christian faith. Anita grew up in Cleburne. She had many tales of riding her bike around as a child and buying tamales for 10 cents apiece from a bike vendor. She always felt like that was such a treat. In her lifetime she loved traveling with her friends, husband and daughter. She loved being outdoors, gardening and doing yard work. Up until she was 84 years old she’d mow her acres of land, and enjoy every minute of it. Anita was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Cleo Cogburn, daughter, Marsha A. Scott, sister, Cleta J. Keefner, and mother, Jessie Bowen Wigley. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. We will so greatly miss her and the great stories she shared with us of her life. She was deeply proud of her retirement with Montgomery Ward of 20 years. She is survived by her daughter, Cleta Alger of Benbrook; a nephew of Wichita Falls; and a niece of Dallas; four grandchildren; and three great grandchildren whom she adored. Mamaw, I know you are smiling down now. I promised you they’d make room in Heaven. Till then, rejoice with our departed loved ones. We will reunite again, my solemn promise. Memorials may be made to George’s Creek Cemetery Association, P.O. Box 598, Glen Rose, TX. 76043. Interment Georges Creek Cemetery Somervell County , TX Memorial Contributions Georges Creek Cemetery Association PO Box 598 Glen Rose, TX 76043
