Service for Anita Rodriguez, 94, of Cleburne will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, November 28, 2012 in St. Joseph Catholic Church. Father Sergio Rizo will officiate. Burial will follow in Rosehill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Gabriel Gonzalez, Ted Gonzalez, Roberto Garcia, Andres Garcia, Cresendo Garcia, Manuel Garcia, Samuel McDonald and Christopher Wheeler. Honorary pallbearers will be Roberto Garcia, Sr., Abraham Garcia and Tomas Gonzalez. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 P.M., Tuesday, at the funeral home. Anita was born on April 26, 1918 to Pedro and Jobita Rodriguez in Muzquiz, Coahuila, Mexico. It was in Muzquiz that she met and married Cresendo Garcia in 1939 and had five children. Anita loved God, gardening, tamales with coffee, picking pecans and caring for her family. Anita could still thread a needle on the first try well into her ninety-fourth year. She was preceded in death by her husband Cresendo, her children Ignacio and Virginia, and her grandson Pedro, but was reunited with them on Thanksgiving Day at 2:15 P.M. as she peacefully in her sleep went home to be with Jesus Christ. Her family would like to thank everyone who helped either in caring for, bringing food, and praying over the last week and a half. Survivors include children, Roberto Garcia and wife, Maria of Odessa, Abraham Garcia and wife, Teresa of Del Rio; daughter-in-law, Rosa Garcia of Del Rio, and Margarita Gonzalez and husband, Tomas of Cleburne, which whom she lived with for the last 44 years soon after becoming a widow. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren; 43 great grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.
