Service for Antonio Medellin Sr., 82, of Alvarado will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, October 11, 2014 in the Keene Seventh-day Adventist Church. Pastor Ron Follett will officiate. Burial will be in Keene Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 P.M., Friday, at the funeral home. Antonio Medellin Sr. passed away Tuesday, October 7, 2014 in Alvarado. He was born June 13, 1932 in Cuero, Texas to Catarino and Leonarda Medellin Rodriguez. He married Susie J. Mendiola on September 29, 1957 in Wharton, Texas. Mr. Medellin served in the United States Army and was a veteran of the Korean War. He was a retired welder for the Santa Fe Railroad and a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Susie J. Medellin; children, Margie Davidson and husband Michael, Tony Medellin Jr. and wife Sheryl, Nora S. Medellin, and Annie Sterling and husband Shawn; grandchildren, Anthony Damron, Monica Welch, Victor Sterling, and Jackson Sterling; great granddaughter, Sarah Welch; numerous cousins, other relatives and friends.
