Arthur Sellers

Service for Arthur Lee "Bud" Sellers, 92, of Ft. Worth, formerly of Cleburne, will be conducted at 10:30 A.M., Monday, April 2, 2012 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Mr. Ronald Sellers and Mr. Kevin Rhodes will officiate. Burial will follow in the Rosehill Cemetery, Cleburne. Visitation will be from 3-5:00 P.M., Sunday at the funeral home. Mr. Sellers passed away Friday, March 30, 20122 in Ft. Worth. Born in Harper Texas, April 12, 1919 to Arthur Ward Sellers and Stella Lee Sageser, Mr. Sellers attended school in Harper and then Fredericksburg TX, graduating in 1938. He moved to Fort Worth TX and attended Draughn Business College in 1939 and also attended Texas Christian University in the late 1950's. Mr. Sellers began working for the Fort Worth Post Office in 1940. Following his service in the U.S. Navy in WW II, Mr. Sellers resumed his postal career, working in numerous Fort Worth locations and advancing in the management ranks. He married Geneva Diane Teague on Dec. 6, 1945 in San Angelo, TX. In 1971, Mr. Sellers was appointed as Officer-in-Charge of the Arlington Post Office and was subsequently appointed as Postmaster in 1972. He served in that position until his retirement in 1979. A resident of Cleburne TX from 1971 until moving to a Fort Worth retirement center in 2007, Mr. Sellers enjoyed ranching, Quarter horses, and dealing in farm and ranch property. He and his wife Geneva enjoyed traveling in their RV throughout the U.S. Mr. Sellers was a long-time member of the Church of Christ. Bud enjoyed hunting, farming, ranching and raising quarter horses. He was a lifetime member of the Good Sam RV Club and the Rotary clubs in Arlington and Cleburne. Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Geneva Sellers of Ft. Worth; sons, Ronald W. Sellers and wife Linda Lee of Conroe and Gregory Lee Sellers and wife Linda Sue of Cisco; grandchildren, Ronald Scott Sellers and wife Simone, Jeffery Lee Sellers and wife Lisa, Shelli Lin Sellers Smith and husband Jerry, Shana Kay Sellers, Justin Lee Sellers and wife Sarah, Matthew Ryan Sellers and wife Lindsay and Emily Katherine Sellers; great grandchildren, Katelyn, Kade, Paityn, Madison, Kellan, Brooke, Brittany, Brenna, Bryce and Brandon; three nieces and one nephew. He was preceded in death by his parents, A.W. and Stella Sellers; brothers, O.J. Sellers and Whitney B. Sellers and sisters, Jettie Rae Wyatt and Fern Middleton.
