Service for Ben William Smelley, 67, of Godley will be conducted at10:30 A.M., Saturday, February 21, 2015 in the First Baptist Church of Godley. The Reverend Kenneth Coleman will officiate. Burial will be in Godley Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 P.M., Friday, at the funeral home. Ben William Smelley passed away Monday, Feb. 16, 2015 in Fort Worth. He was born November 17, 1947 in Fort Worth to Robert and Mary Eastman Smelley. He married Elizabeth Diane Kyle on August 30, 1968 in Cleburne. Mr. Smelley was a rancher and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cleburne. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Survivors include his wife, Diane Smelley; son, Aaron Smelley; brothers, Dave Smelley and Pat Smelley; sister, Molly James; and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and son, Robert Shawn Smelley on March 15, 2010.
