Bernice Neighbors

Service for Bernice Neighbors, 85, of Keene will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2016 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Pastor Tony Torres and Pastor Harly Charles will officiate. Burial will be in Keene Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Nathan Neighbors, Ryan Neighbors, Ben Westcott, Barry Westcott, Daniel Neighbors and Matthew Neighbors. Honorary pallbearers will be Andrew Neighbors, Joseph Neighbors and Isaac Payne. Bernice Neighbors passed away Saturday, Sept. 24, 2016 at Texas Health Huguley Hospital in Ft. Worth. She was born May 21, 1931 in Oklahoma City, OK to George Laudna and Esther Ruth Cummings Spurgeon. She married Billy Gene Neighbors on Dec. 24, 1949 in Ardmore, OK. Mrs. Neighbors was a homemaker and a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and a dear friend to many. She was a member of the Cleburne Seventh-day Adventist Church for 46 years. Survivors include her beloved husband of 66 years, Bill Neighbors of Keene; children, Rick Neighbors and wife Nancy of Keene, Diane Neighbors-Westcott and husband Carl of Egan, Randy Neighbors of Egan, and Pamela Payne and husband Robert of Cleburne; grandchildren, Nathan Neighbors, Ryan Neighbors, Billie Daley, Benjamin Westcott, Barry Westcott, Daniel Neighbors, Matthew Neighbors, Andrew Neighbors, Joseph Neighbors, and Issac Payne; 14 great grandchildren and two on the way; two brothers, Ted Spurgeon and Bodie Spurgeon; several nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters and two brothers.
