Graveside services for Billy Gene Allen, 75, of Whitney, will be conducted in the Bluff Cemetery, Detroit, Texas at 3:00 P.M., Wednesday, March 18, 2020. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 17 from 6:00-8:00 P.M., at the funeral home. Billy Allen passed away Friday, March 13, 2020 at home surrounded by family in Whitney, Texas. He was born November 20, 1944 in Meridian, Texas to Charles B. and Margie Ruth (Newsome) Allen. He married Ellie Joyce Miller on May 4, 1973 in Cleburne. He was a man of many talents; a welder, a truck driver and a tool and die maker. Billy enjoyed fishing and hunting. His family was his greatest love, especially his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Joyce Allen of Whitney; children, Billy Allen of Cleburne, Gary Allen and wife Carol of Cleburne, Gena Applegate and boyfriend Randy of Whitney, Charles Allen and wife Misty of Whitney, and Billie Smith and husband Mark of Whitney; grandchildren, Tabitha, Eli, Betina, Josh, Brett, Sarah, Gary, Brittany, Hayden, Landry, Christian, C.J., Collin, Shaela, Kinsley and Zac; numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; brother, Danny Allen and wife Shirley of Cleburne, Russell Allen and wife Lynn of Springtown; and sister-in-law, Barbara Allen of Cleburne. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Margie Allen, sister; Margaret Weehunt; brother, Jerry Allen; and niece, Laura Reed.
