Graveside service for Billy Jack Giles, 88, of Godley, will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, May 20, 2020 in the Godley Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8:00 P.M., Tuesday at the funeral home. Honorary pallbearers will be Tommy Tinney, Bill Tinney, Vernon Abbott, Tom Scott, Bob Tackett, Robert Barresi, Austin Judd Giles and Linda Kelly. Billy Jack Giles passed away Saturday, May 16, 2020 in Fort Worth. He was born July 20, 1931 in Godley to John David and Lena Mae (Hardcastle) Giles. He married Christalene Cash on May 23, 1954 in Cresson. Billy was past president of the Galiceno Horse Breeders Association and a member of Parker County Cowboy Church. Billy and his wife Chistalene devoted their lives to raising horses and children. They were foster parents for 30 plus years and welcomed over 61 children into their home. The family requests any former foster children to join them graveside in the family seating area. Billy was a poet, artist, horseman and a humanitarian. He loved to recite his poetry every chance he could. Billy is survived by his daughter, Jalene Yates of Godley; daughter in love, Kandice Gallimore and husband Mario of Crowley; son in love Daniel Johnson and wife Nicole of Granbury; grandchildren, Willa Johnson, Abby Gallimore, Ana Gallimore, Dustin Yates, Randy Yates and Christie Yates and numerous nieces and nephews. Billy is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Christalene Giles; son, Lawton Giles; brother and sister-in-law, Wendal Dan “Pink” and Ann Giles; son-in-law Bobby Lee Yates.
