Service for Monroe Camp, 78, of Blum will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 28, 2012, in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. The Rev. Dennis Camp and the Rev. Charles E. Payne will officiate. Burial will follow in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Mr. Camp passed away Sunday, Dec. 23, 2012, in Whitney. He was born Sept. 3, 1934, in Grandview to Joel R. and Margaret Pope Camp. Mr. Camp served his country in the United States Army and was a retired diesel mechanic. He was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include his daughter, Ruby Smith; sons, Charlie Camp and Billy Camp; grandchildren, Tiffany Minster and April and Jessica Smith; great-grandson, Justin Smith; brothers, Floyd Camp, Jessie Camp, Kenneth Camp, Luther Camp, Roger Camp, James Camp, Cecil Camp and Jimmy Camp; sisters, Mary Harrison, Dovie George, Ruthie Collins and Margaret McCollum; and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, John Wayne Camp and William David Camp; grandson, Jeffrey Minster; and three brothers.
