Graveside services for Rev. Clyde A. Miller, Jr., 91, of Keene, will be conducted at 10:00 A.M. Monday, October 10, 2011 in the Greenacres Memorial Park, Cleburne with Pastor Farris Whitehead officiating. Rev. Miller passed away in Cleburne on Friday, October 7, 2011. He was born to Clyde A., Sr. and Elnora Meek Miller on May 20, 1920 in Coshocton, Ohio. He served in the United States Army as a Staff Sgt. during World War II. He worked in various industries, including managing an auto parts store and ministering. He was a founding member of Eastern Heights Church. Clyde married Jayne Matheson Miller in the fall of 1975 in Fort Myers, Florida. Clyde enjoyed crafts of all kinds, especially sand art, wood burning and carving, and drawing. He also enjoyed collecting model cars and watching old black and white movies. He was one of a kind, often found whistling, humming, or singing no matter what he was doing. He was an opinionated man, especially of politics. Clyde was known as a flirt. His loving nature and independent spirit will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Jayne Miller on November 4, 2004; infant sister, Grace Miller; and great grandson, Casey Lowrey. Survivors include his children and their spouses, Elana Gay and Lowell, Hugh Miller and Marina, James Clyde Miller and Suzie, David Miller and Dianne, Lori Haulk and Steve, Glen Miller, and Deborah Scarbrough and Jerry; 15 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; brother, Calvin Miller and his wife, Ruth; 1 niece; and a host of other relatives and friends including his former wife, Mary Jo Witherspoon.
