Graveside memorial service for Danny Lynn Hughes, 62, of Cleburne will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, September 28, 2013 in Rosehill Cemetery. Chaplain Eddy Carrell will officiate. Danny Lynn Hughes passed away Wednesday, September 11, 2013 in Farmers Branch. He was born October 18, 1950 in Cleburne to J.W. and Ruth Bullard Hughes. Mr. Hughes served his country proudly in the Unites States Marine Corp. from 1968-1972 where he served on special services as well. During which time he played on the Marine Corp football team in Quantico, VA. In his younger years he played all kinds of sports. He was number one pitcher in Dallas’ Little League for three years in a row. In high school he played golf and went on to teach in the Dallas area as golf pro. During his middle and high school years he lettered in football, baseball and basketball. Danny was of the Baptist faith. His love of life and determination will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved him. He is preceded in death by his father, J.W. Hughes; step father, Chuck York; and grandparents, Simon and Blanche Bullard. Survivors include his mother, Ruth Bullard York of Cleburne; sister, Cheryl Watkins of Midlothian; one niece, Kristi Watkins of Waxahachie; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
