Service for Denise McKelvy Johnson, 61, of Alvarado will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, January 2, 2014 in the Calvary Baptist Church. The Reverend Charles E. Payne and Reverend Jessie Simon will officiate. Burial will be in Greenacres Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Chuck Blevins, Jim Benson, Larry Benson, Devon Benson, Earl Sides and Eddy Carrell. Honorary pallbearers will be Butch Rux and P.J. McKelvy. Mrs. Johnson passed away Monday, December 30, 2013 in Alvarado. She was born Nov. 25, 1952 in Ft. Worth to Curtis Owens and Lois Lorie Forsythe McKelvy. She married Andrew M. Johnson on Aug. 26, 2006 in Cleburne. Mrs. Johnson was a homemaker and a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, Drew Johnson of Alvarado; children, Sheila Humphrey and husband Jady, Kevin Staples and Kitty Spencer and Erica Staples and Daniel Sparks; six grandchildren, Joseph, Jacob, Jessica and Joshua Humphrey, Shane Sparks and Sabbath Staples; and an uncle, P.J. McKelvy. She is preceded in death by her parents; and two husbands, Dan Staples and Jim Baird.
