Dennis Anthony Wilde Obituary

Mass of Christian Burial for Dennis Anthony Wilde, 85, of Alvarado will be conducted at 10:30 A.M., Thursday, Nov. 17, 2016 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Father Fernando will officiate. Burial will be in Greenacres Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 P.M., Wednesday, with rosary at 7:00 P.M., in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Dennis Wilde passed away Sunday, Nov. 13, 2016 in Alvarado. He was born Nov. 29, 1930 in Rhineland to Charles Joseph and Annie Decker Wilde. He married Hellen Jean Jones Wilde on Aug. 25, 1956 in Decatur. Mr. Wilde served in the United States Navy as a photographer for four years and was a manufacturing supervisor at Texstar Plastic Co., retiring with more than 30 years of service. He was President of the Catholic Youth Organization; was a city councilman of Forrest Hills for two terms and was the first write-in candidate to ever win the election. Dennis served on the National Board of Directors for Pony Baseball and was a director for over three decades. He was President of Holy Name Catholic Church Counsel and St. Joseph Catholic Church Counsel. He delivered food to Operation Blessing Food Pantry for many years and was also in the Knights of Columbus. Dennis is loved by his family and friends and will be greatly missed. Survivors include his beloved wife of 60 years, Hellen Jean Wilde; sons, Ralph Wilde and wife Brenda of Alvarado and Mark Wilde and wife Brenda of Crestview, FL; daughter, Misti Wilde of Arlington; grandchildren, Kody Wilde, Kendall Wilde Winders, Brittany Gossett, Matthew Wilde, Macie Wilde and Megan Gossett; great grandchildren, Charlee Wilde, Jack Wilde, Sofia Gossett, Briggs Winders and Tara Gossett; brothers, Cecil Wilde, Melvin Wilde, Severn Wilde and John Wilde; sister, Betty Cooper; and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Leroy and Marvin Wilde; and sisters, Roseann LaJaunie and Charlene Thames
