Service for Donald Ben Lathers, Sr., 69, of Granbury, will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, January 20, 2016 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. The Reverend Jerry Moody will officiate. Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Garrett Johnston, Jacob Webster, Cory Webster, Bull Felan, Dustin Harris, Toby Webster, Derek Harris, and Gene Lathers. Visitation will be from 1-2:00 P.M., Wednesday, prior to the service. Donald Ben Lathers, Sr. passed away Sunday, Jan. 17, 2016 in Granbury. He was born Nov. 9, 1946 in Dallas to Willie J. Lathers, Sr. and Lula Mae James Lathers Walton. He married Geraldine Carson on March 8, 1968 in Cleburne. Donald worked at the Santa Fe Railroad before retiring. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and a friend to many. He was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Geraldine Lathers of Granbury; grandson, Cory Webster of Granbury; daughter, Shelly Lathers Parsons and husband Gene of Granbury, Janey Harris and husband Chris of Cleburne, Pamela Webster and Fred Mills of Granbury; 20 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; brothers, Glen Lathers, Sr. and wife Debra, and Jerry Walton and wife Gena; sisters, Debbie Barakat and husband Joe, Connie Carlock, Flora Stanford and husband Kevin, Glenda Byers, and Darlene Lathers and husband Bill Ruffing; in-laws, Joyce Ballew and husband Danny, Jone French and husband Wayne, Barbara Lathers, and Linda Lathers; daughter-in-law, Peggy Lathers; aunts, Bertha and Eddie Beck and Eula Faye Lindamood; and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lula Mae Walton; fathers, Bill Lathers and Carl “Bunk” Walton; son, Donald Ben Lathers, Jr.; grandchildren, Tiffany Stone, Tommie and Nickie Felan, Baby Boy Felan, and Landon Lathers; brothers, Billy Lathers, Sr., George Lathers, Sr., Okie Walton, and Anthony Walton; and brothers-in-law, Oscar Carlock and Mike Byers.
