Service for Donald Manning “Bud” McDonald, 86, of Cleburne, will be conducted at 2:00 PM Monday, January 5, 2015 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Visitation will be conducted from 1-2 PM prior to service. Burial will be 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, January 7, 2015 in DFW National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Wesley Riggs, Chase Wilbanks, Gabe Riggs, Jim Pharr, Eddie Wilbanks and Robert Riggs. Bud passed away Thursday, January 1, 2015 in Cleburne. He was born April 16, 1928 in Water Valley, Mississippi to Bennie Wayne and Carmen Warner McDonald. He married Norma Jean Wright on November 23, 1952 in Fort Knox, Kentucky. Bud retired as a salesman from GE with 20 years of service and was a member of the Masonic Lodge No.135 in Greenwood, Mississippi. He served in the U.S. Navy and Army and was of the Methodist faith. Bud is survived by his wife Norma McDonald of Cleburne; three daughters Jenny Riggs and husband Robert of Raymore, Missouri, Judy Pharr and husband Jim of Bristol and Jill Wilbanks and husband Eddie of Rio Vista; seven grandchildren, Garen Riggs and wife Sara, Bo Pharr and wife Jill, Wesley Riggs and wife Brandi, Holly Pharr, Rachel Virden and husband Nick, Chase Wilbanks and Caroline Wilbanks; six great-grandchildren, Gabe Riggs, Lexis Riggs, Luke Riggs, Jase Pharr, Jenna Pharr and Mason Virden; numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Bennie and Carmen McDonald; brother Warner McDonald; sister Sally Moore; and infant son, Jamie McDonald. He will always be remembered for his sense of humor and his love for his family, the beach and seeking treasure.
