A memorial service for Dorothy Ann Tucker Greer, 84, of Cleburne will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Friday, July 21, 2017 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. The Officiary Saundra Campbell will officiate. Dorothy Ann Tucker Greer passed away Tuesday, July 11, 2017 in Cleburne. She was born June 9, 1933 in Cleburne to John Tom and Floy Pearl Staggs Tucker. She married Samuel Leon Greer on Feb. 01, 1951 in Cleburne. Dorothy was a partner for over 10 years in SPECO Graphics in Cleburne and was a devoted wife, loving mother, doting grandmother, and faithful friend. Early in the 1950's she began work as a pioneer in the computers at a company that became USAA, and later, General Dynamics. She volunteered at the Cleburne Memorial Hospital and served for many years as an officer and president of the Pink Ladies Auxiliary. Mrs. Greer was a world traveler who visited all 50 of the United States; the adjoining countries of Mexico and Canada; and various islands in the Caribbean. She also traveled to Italy, and the Orient where she explored Thailand, Burma, Japan, and Hong Kong. Dorothy was an avid quilter who created over 60 masterpieces which she shared with her family and friends and was also a skilled gardener who enjoyed her flowers and her vegetables. Survivors include her beloved husband of 67 years, Leon Greer; four children: Deborah Ann Chidgey and husband John of Cleburne, Cindy Caltagirone and husband Tony of Charleston, SC., James Greer of Cleburne, and Christi Simpson and husband George of Pleasanton, CA; six grandchildren, Martin Griffith III, Jerrett Greer, Travis Pope and wife Chelsey, Leah Pope, Cole Simpson and Audrey Simpson; one great grandchild, Jace Greer; sisters: Lue Rene (Sis) Livingston, Shirley Black and Johnnie Fuller; brother, Charles Otto (Buster) Tucker; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, James Orval Tucker; and two sisters, Rosie Mae McLaughlin and Jewell Beatrice Alexander. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, North Central Texas Chapter, 2630 W. Freeway, Suite 100, Fort Worth, Texas 76102 and the American Cancer Society, North Texas Region, 3301 W. Freeway, Ft. Worth, TX 76107.
